Jim Bultema

General Managing Partner

Jim Bultema, a certified Professional Golf Association (PGA) Professional, heads the service-driven team at Railside Golf Club, coordinating and hosting regularly scheduled men’s and ladies’ golf events and special events, and offering amenities that meet the highest standards of excellence. Prior to his affiliation with RGC, Jim was the Head Golf Professional at Cascade Hills Country Club, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a community he served in a variety of capacities for nearly 24 years. Jim holds a Professional Golf Management (PGM) Marketing Degree from Ferris State University, and he is also a certified David Leadbetter Teaching Instructor. He continues to conduct teaching and instructional sessions throughout the year, allowing him to serve members of the community while entertaining his passion for golf.





Emily Rohdy 

PGA Assistant Golf Professional 

Emily holds a Professional Golf Management Marketing degree from
Ferris State University and is a Class A member of the PGA of America.  
Emily has worked at Midland Country Club, Vail Golf Club, and
Pilgrim’s Run Golf Club.  Most recently, Emily was at Kent Country Club
as the Assistant Golf Professional where she was instrumental in growing
 the juniors and ladies’ golf programs. Emily’s ultimate goal is to inspire
 current and new members to fall in love with the game of golf.  



Matthew Koets

PGA Head Golf Professional & Membership Director



Matt serves Railside Golf Club as the PGA Head Golf Professional
after serving as the Club’s Assistant Professional for five years.  
Prior to joining the Railside team, Matt served for five years as the
inaugural PGA Head Golf Professional at Macatawa Legends Golf
and Country Club. Matt holds a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing
and Professional Golf Management from Ferris State University,
and he is a Class A member of the PGA of America.


Jeff Smith

Golf Course Superintendent

Jeff joined the Railside Golf Club team in 2014 and is responsible for overseeing the care and maintenance of the golf course.  Prior to joining the Railside team, he served as Superintendent at The Yarrow and Braeside Golf Club, as well as the Assistant Superintendent at Cascade Hills Country Club.  Jeff holds a Turf Management degree from Michigan State University and has more than 24 years of experience in the industry. 





Nathan Orange 


Nathan Orange serves Railside Golf Club as its Chef. He leads the dining and events culinary team and is responsible for creating an excellent diner experience. Prior to joining Railside, Nathan was an Executive Chef at the Redwater Restaurant Group in Grand Rapids. He also served as a Sous Chef at Niya and Glen Eagle Golf Course. Nathan graduated from Grand Rapids Community College’s culinary arts program. 





John Bultema




  John Bultema joined the Railside team in the summer of 2010.  With a CPA
license and an MBA from Grand Valley State University, he brings over 15
years of accounting experience to the Business Office.  He earned his BA in
Accounting from Taylor University.  Prior to his arrival, he was the Controller
 in a local commercial real estate office for the past five years.


Donna Dokl

Director of Food & Beverage and Events
Donna Dokl joined the Railside team in the winter of 2013 as the Events Coordinator and was promoted to Director of Food & Beverage and Events in 2017. Prior to working at Railside, Donna worked at the Grand Rapids Public Museum.




Hailley Brandmiller

Restaurant Manager

Hailley began her career with Railside under the direction of Donna Dokl in the events department. She worked with her for two and a half years and then moved on to help open Newaygo Brewing Company as a front of house manager for two years. Hailley earned her culinary management degree from Grand Rapids Community College.
